The Alaska Club — Diabetes Exercise Program

Congratulations on your pursuit of better health and management of your Diabetes. All of us at The Alaska Club are excited to work in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association in welcoming you into our facilities. We have Fitness Instructors at all of our locations who are prepared to help you get started on your exercise program and offer assistance along the way.

Our goal is to make sure that you are comfortable in the club environment.
We will assist you with use of the exercise equipment and guide you
to the fitness classes and other services that you make a part of
your routine. We want you to get results and have a great experience!

Here is how to begin your exercise prgram:

1. Bring your Diabetes Exercise Program card/tracking sheet to the
ExpressWay area at any The Alaska Club location, during the
posted service hours, and you will find a trained Fitness
Instructor prepared to help you get started.

2. With assistance from a Fitness Instructor, select a
cardiovascular activity and perform ten-minute warm-up.

3. Receive instruction from a Fitness Instructor on how to find
a Diabetes Track group fitness class or other club service/activity,
or you may be guided through the ExpressWay strength training circuit.

a. Please do not include the ExpressWay strength training
circuit in your program without prior clearance from your Physician.

b. Only do the ExpressWay strength training circuit on
non-consecutive days, two to three days per week.

4. Keep your Diabetes Exercise Program card/tracking sheet
on file in the ExpressWay at the club where you will be participating.

5. Come back and exercise a minimum of three (3) times per week.

Thank you for taking the time and energy to participate in this
valuable program and we encourage you to ask any exercise or
program-related questions you may have while at the club. We also
encourage you to seek further information about diabetes on the
American Diabetes Assocation website. or by calling the local 800
number. We wish you success and the best of health!
