Card #5814 Yoga Workshops Juneau Valley

April 20: Yoga for Reducing Arthritis Pain.

In this class Dr. Kane will give a brief introduction to human anatomy, explaining the difference between muscle, tendon, and joint distress — how to distinguish these plus an overview of therapeutic options. Preserving our joint mobility promotes good quality of life — which after all, is everything! Arthritis may not be reversible, but we can improve our posture and the way we use our joints to live with less discomfort. You will learn meaningful alternatives to taking pain killers which should only be used short-term for pain management.

May 18: Yoga to Improve Immune Hardiness

will involve a sampling of short lectures from Dr. Kane on what the immune system is, and how it works, as well as a series of yoga moves designed to improve blood flow to the immune organs which may help stave off an impending cold or flu, as well as provide long term hardiness against inevitable exposure to germs.
