Fitting in exercise can be a real challenge for a lot of people. Whether you’re busy raising kids, working a high-stress job, or simply not sure how to start an exercise routine, finding your ‘why’ for taking care of your health is an important first step.
I’m an early morning workout junkie but now that sunrise is getting later every day, I will admit that waking up isn’t as easy now as it was in July. However, as a working mom, I’ve found that early morning is the best time for me to workout. It’s not only guaranteed uninterrupted ‘me time’, but it also sets the tone for my day. I do it for both my mental and physical health, with a goal of living a long, strong, and self-sufficient life.
What inspires me to keep going? A sense of community and connections with people at The Alaska Club. I can count on the same friendly faces both when I walk through the front door of the club and in the regular Group Fitness classes I attend to inspire, motivate, and leave me with good vibes for the rest of the day.
As we usher in the end of summer and a return to routines, take some time to think about your ‘why’ for joining The Alaska Club. Is it to feel better? De-stress? Get stronger? Keep up with your kids or grandkids? Whatever exercise means to you, take a few minutes to ask yourself the following questions:
· Why do you exercise?
· How do you fit it in?
· What inspires you to keep going?
· Do you have a favorite motivational phrase?
Need more inspiration? Find a class on the new Group Fitness schedule or connect with a Personal Trainer for one-on-one attention. The Alaska Club is your partner in fitness. We encourage you to take advantage of everything we offer to get the most out of your membership.
We want to hear from you!
