COVID-19 Closure & Updates

March 19, 2020 Membership Update

Dear Members,

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we navigate through this difficult and uncertain time. As news about COVID-19 evolves, we are doing all we can to support the health and safety of our staff, members and communities.

As you know, in accordance to the Governor’s mandate, we have temporarily closed the operation of all our facilities. These closures will be challenging for the hundreds of people we employ and the thousands of members who choose to make us part of their health and wellness routine.  For these reasons, we’ve made the following decisions for our members and our communities:

Membership opportunities and options

  • Since you can’t come to us, we will come to you, providing resources to help you and your family stay healthy through exercise.  Our fitness team is creating online workouts that showcase your favorite fitness professionals.  We will offer yoga, Zumba, Youth P.E. classes and more to keep you moving.  We will always have a fitness expert available to answer your questions and help you stay strong.
  • We value your membership and commitment to our network. That’s why we are temporarily suspending charges for Personal Training, Membership Plus, Good Life and other recurring services while our facilities are closed.
  • We are offering flexible options to keep you whole on your membership and dues.  Please note that if you choose the option to pay dues as normal, we will not only make you whole but apply your dues payment, in the short term, to keep as many of our staff employed as possible.

Working in our home communities
During these trying times, we lean on our club value of “strength in community” and see a broader opportunity to assist the places our clubs call home. To that end, we have repurposed some of our staff to work with non-profit organizations to assist at-risk community members. Please check our social media channels for more information and updates on our efforts.

Keeping clubs safe and ready for your return
In our 34-year history, thousands of families have walked through our doors and we have the honor of watching you all get healthier and stronger every day.  Our maintenance and janitorial crews are presently on duty so when we reopen our doors, we will be ready for many more years together.

In closing, we appreciate your commitment and loyalty to The Alaska Club network and are thankful for your continued support and understanding as we navigate these challenging times together.

Sincerely,

Robert Brew
