The Alaska Club Extends Free Pool and Fitness Access for Military Families During Base Pool Closures

Supporting Our Military Community During the Shutdown

While the JBER Elmendorf pool is closed, The Alaska Club is opening its doors to military families for free access to pools and fitness centers.

In light of the temporary closure of the JBER Elmendorf Base pool during the government shutdown, The Alaska Club is offering free access to its swimming pools and fitness facilities during the government shutdown, for active-duty military members, their families, and base personnel.

We understand how important swimming is for fitness, recreation, and family connection,” said Ben Griffith, General Manager at The Alaska Club. “With the base pools currently closed, we want to make sure our military community still has a place to work out, swim, relax, and stay active.”

Military members and their families are welcome to visit participating The Alaska Club locations for access to our fitness facilities, lap swim, open swim, and family swim hours at no charge while the base pools remain unavailable. Guests should bring a valid military ID and check in at the front desk.

“The Alaska Club has deep roots in our Alaska communities, and we’re proud to support the men and women who serve,” added Ben Gritffith. “This is simply our way of saying thank you and helping bridge the gap during the shutdown.”
