Safety Protocols

Entryway & Lobby

All front desks will be staffed to manage the entry of members to facilitate social distancing.

• Any member with a temperature at or above 100.4°F should stay home.
• Signage is placed in all entryways informing members of TAC’s mitigation plan and states that any person with symptoms consistent with COVID-19 may not enter the club.
• Front desks are equipped with hand sanitizer.
• Most main doors are now equipped with touchless entries.

Front Desk

• Hand sanitizer is available for member and employee use.
• There is limited food & beverage service; bottled, pre-packaged items only.

• We have multiple locker rooms for members to use to ease crowding and ensure more spacing.
• We have private and family dressing rooms in addition to locker rooms for member use.
• Increased schedule for cleaning showers and locker rooms.
• Towel service resumed.
• Laundry is laundered in hot temperatures following CDC guidelines and staff will wear gloves when handling laundry.
• Sauna's, hot tubs, and steam rooms are available at all locations.

Cycle & Cardio Areas

• Cardio machines have been tagged out to facilitate social distancing.
• All wall-mounted and floor fans will remain off to prevent the accelerated spread of germs.
• TAC will not provide headphones for members to reduce touchpoints.

• Equipment may be relocated to help allow people to spread out.

Free Weight & Strength Training

• All free weight & plate-loaded strength training machine areas will have limited capacity.
• Staff members will monitor this area to ensure adherence to occupancy limits and social distance standards are met.
• Equipment will be dispersed throughout the clubs to promote social distancing.
• The equipment is spaced out to facilitate social distancing.
• All fitness areas will be on an increased cleaning schedule with industrial-strength cleaner.
• Personal sanitation supplies will be readily available throughout the facilities:  disinfecting spray.
• Nightly sanitation of all fitness areas will occur.
• Equipment may be relocated to help allow people to spread out.

Personal Training & Stretching Areas

• Personal training sessions will adhere to strict social distancing standards.
• Trainers will disinfect all equipment and props prior to the member using them.
• Equipment will be spaced out to promote social distancing.
• Virtual personal training is an option for members.
• Team Training is free to members.

• Group fitness classes have resumed with a limited capacity. Please go to our schedules page to view individual club schedules.
• Reservations are required for hot yoga and cycle classes only. See the schedules page for instructions. (Cycle classes in Fairbanks also require reservations.)
• Online classes continue on TAConnect.
• All classes have limited capacity.
• Designated areas for each member are clearly marked on the floor.
• Instructors will remind members to wipe down equipment both before and after class. 
• The schedule of classes has been revised to allow for time between each class in order to sanitize the room.
• Team Training Sessions: this option is open and free to members.

Basketball Courts / Racquetball & Pickleball

• Social Distancing required on all courts.
• Tennis lessons will be permitted with strict social distancing rules.
  
  

• Daily non-invasive health screenings and temperature checks for campers and staff.
• 10' Social Distancing with static small groups of no more than 10 children.
• Only registered participants can access the camp areas.
• Hand sanitizer is provided.
• Staff assigned to sanitize and ensure proper social distancing and personal hygiene.
• Fun, social distancing activities, games, and educational opportunities such as:
  • Creating a camp journal
  • Social distance-sports
  • Daily Swimming

• UV & spray tanning is available.
• Tanning members will be asked to notify the front desk when the session is complete so the team can disinfect equipment.
• The massage table and room will be disinfected after each use.
• Schedule a massage and tanning appointment at the front desk or by calling (907) 365-7393.
  
  

Play Center & Kid Zones

• Face coverings are advised for anyone who is not fully vaccinated. 
• To accommodate social distancing, we have reduced hours of operation.
• Increased cleaning measures and schedules.
• Reservations are encouraged due to limited capacities.
• A cancellation fee will be charged for play center no-shows.
• Children will be provided hand sanitizer as they enter the kids club.
• All play structures are open, except for ball pits.
• Toys and equipment will be disinfected.
• Toys that cannot be disinfected will not be used and will be stored out of reach of children.
• The same parent that drops-off the child must also pick up the child.
  Play Center Reservations  

• Swim lessons have resumed and registration is now open.

• The pools are now available for lap swim, open swim, swim lessons and aqua classes. Check the pool schedule for locations, days and times.

• Open swim schedules have resumed. Please check the pool schedule for specific days and times at each location.

• Lanes will be limited to 2 people per lane for lap swim to promote social distancing

• Group Aqua classes have resumed. Check the pool schedule for specific locations, days, and times.

• Surveillance of water quality and chemical levels will be recorded hourly.

• CDC states:
  "There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas. Proper operation and maintenance (including disinfection with chlorine and bromine) of these facilities should inactivate the virus in the water."

Outdoor Fitness Pavilions Are Open at East and South. Pavilions will close for the season in late September.
