Abs for August

Posted by Tracy Dumas. | Aug 1, 2025 2:48:20 PM

I’m a regular at Team Training (shoutout to my 6am crew at West!) and Coach Stacey Ledgerwood always checks in with us at the start of the month about our goals. This month, she’s promoting Abs for August. The idea is to take 5 minutes a day to strengthen your core which supports your posture and spinal health. The key is to work all parts of your core. Got 5 minutes? Let’s do it! Here are Coach Stacey’s suggestions:

Anterior Core (front):

  • Deadbugs

  • Leg/hip lifts

  • Bicycle crunches

Posterior core (back):

Transverse core (girdle the wraps around):

Want more? Join a Team Training class where you’ll practice many of these functional moves or try them on your own.  Remember, it only takes 5 minutes! You can also connect with one of The Alaska Club’s experienced personal trainers who can work with you to design a routine for your unique needs and goals. Good luck with your Abs for August challenge. You got this!
