What Does TLC in 2023 Mean?

Posted by Tracy Dumas. | Jan 2, 2023 1:49:11 PM

The last few years have been filled with being mindful of others. Whether it was caring for children, aging parents, or learning how to manage work-life balance with your partner while you’re both working from home, you’ve probably adopted some different ways of living since March 2020. But have you lost yourself in the process?

Were you once a regular gym-goer, attending group fitness classes with the same friend's week after week, running miles on a treadmill, taking time to enjoy a spa service, or playing basketball with your kids? If you answered yes, ask yourself are you still doing those things? If the answer is no or not enough, then it may be time to reevaluate. If you’re not taking care of yourself and your needs, then you’re not going to have the energy to care for others.

That is why The Alaska Club is promoting a message of TLC in 2023. We want to encourage our members to utilize the clubs in a way that serves you. If you love coming to a group fitness class, working hard with a personal trainer, or swimming laps in a pool, go for it. But don’t beat yourself up if you miss a workout or just want to come in for a steam and some relaxation time. Life happens which means sometimes your workout may get sidelined, and that’s okay. We’re here for you regardless of what you need on a given day.

Being fit is not just about your physical health, it is also about your mental health. Get to know what kind of gym experience works for you, not what you think you’re supposed to do or what someone says you should do. At The Alaska Club, our vision is to deliver a rewarding experience that inspires drive in our members toward ongoing fitness, ultimately improving the quality of their lives. We strive to do this by providing the tools and support you need to make fitness fit your individual lifestyle. This year, we invite you to incorporate some tender loving care into whatever type of fitness routine you choose and set yourself up for a happy, healthy 2023.
