A very heartfilled welcome back to all our members and staff! The Alaska Club reopened its doors this past week and the energy throughout the facilities was filled with enthusiasm and gratitude by all. The Alaska Club team has been working hard preparing the clubs to reopen. While the facilities were not in use, the maintenance and operations teams deep cleaned, made repairs and upgraded several areas of the clubs.
We made it a priority, to reopen in the safest manner, which required investing in state-of-the-art sanitation technology, and putting in place procedures that extend far beyond the required state and local mandates. Our team has been thoroughly trained on all new procedures which include:
- Entry Screenings
- Social Distancing
- How to properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Enhanced Disinfecting and Sanitation Procedures
All you have to do is show-up, workout and we'll take care of the rest!
Also during our closure, we reached out to our community partners to find out how we could do more to support those in need during this unprecedented time. Because of the generosity of our members, we were able to provide various levels of compensation to our employees through the closure. We help fundraise for the Children's Lunchbox program to feed kids and families in need by donating $10,000 and packing and delivering over 3000 pantry boxes. We opened our Anchorage West Club to provide a safe and sanitized environment to a volunteer group whom custom-fit masks for first responders in the event of a shortage of N95 masks. We used our large laundering facilities to clean handmade masks according to the new standards and then redistributed to first responders, women's shelters and others.
We're proud of the way our community banded together to get through this difficult time. Things are different, but our commitment to delivering results, strengthening community, and building healthy generations will never change! Now, it's time to get back to the business of working out - safely, because your safety, your well-being and your health is our priority.
