The Benefits of Working Out

Posted by The Alaska Club and Medline Plus Contributor | Jun 10, 2020 3:21:47 PM

We have all heard it many times before - regular exercise is good for you, and it can help you lose weight. But if you're like many Americans, you're busy, you have a sedentary job, and you haven't yet changed your exercise habits, especially during the Pandemic where many of you are stuck at home. The good news is that it's never too late to start. You can start slowly, and find ways to fit more physical activity into your life. To get the most benefit, you should try to get the recommended amount of exercise for your age. If you can do it, the payoff is that you will feel better, help prevent or control many diseases, and likely even live longer. Read the full article posted by Medline Plus here.

The Alaska Club has added many options for you to access the daily benefits of exercise such as cardio, weight training, swimming, group fitness, personal training, strength and resistance training and much more.

Since the reopening of the clubs in May, we have implemented  industry-leading measures to protect you and our team.  Standard procedures are in place at all clubs such as spreading out people and equipment, and personal protection equipment worn by all team members and temperature checks upon entry.  And more advanced sanitation measures, such as electrostatic disinfectant spraying throughout the day and biological fogging at night when clubs are empty.  Air scrubbing has been installed in clubs’ ventilation systems. This technology, which has been used by NASA, acts as a supercharged purification system, destroying viruses and other surface and airborne contaminants.

When you visit the Alaska Club, you’ll find clear instructions on new protocols posted around the clubs. These are all for your health and safety, as well as our team’s. Things are different, but the Alaska Club’s commitment to delivering results, strengthening community and building healthy generations will never change! Learn more here.

If you're not quite ready to workout in the club, you can enjoy the fresh air in our Open Air Fitness Pavilion or in one of our Outdoor Group Classes.  We've created designated areas that require face coverings, and have others do so too! If you're still at home, you can log into any of our Virtual Online Classes at no additional cost. To learn more about The Alaska Club, visit https://www.thealaskaclub.com/.
